We’re delighted that a host of leading scholars have agreed to contribute to next July’s symposium on motor processes and visual attention, including keynotes from Prof Marissa Carrasco and Prof Christian Olivers and talks from Dr. Teuni ten Brink (Utrecht University), Prof. Therese Collins (Paris Descartes), Dr. Trevor Crawford (Lancaster University), Dr. Anna Grubert (Durham University), Miss Nina Hanning (LMU), Dr. Casimir Ludwig (Bristol University), Dr. Robert McIntosh (University of Edinburgh), Dr. Laure Pisella (Lyon University) and Dr. Martin Rolfs (HU Berlin)
Dan attended the joint meeting of the EPS and CSBBCS in St. Johns, Newfoundland to report some recent findings from the project. His talk brought together neuropsychological and behavioural evidence, including some recent data from Soazig’s experiments, to argue that exogenous orienting of attention depends on activation of the eye-movement system whereas endogenous orienting can be achieved independently of saccade programming. He also participated in a symposium on the control of visual attention, organised by RJ Redden and featuring talks from Ray Klein, Bob Swalwell, Ana Chica, Amelia Hunt and RJ himself.
